If there is one thing ANA AFM 2025 in Carlsbad taught us, it’s that change doesn’t always appear in a PowerPoint presentation. At times, it appears in the casual chats held in the hallways, the quieter one-to-ones, or the slow build-up where a panelist articulates what everyone else has wanted to say.

We spent the better part of a week during AFM this year, back-to-back listening to clients’ issues, untangling trends, and sharing what we see from a creative, media, and production governance standpoint. Whether it was the full-house session on agency compensation reform or the vigorous discussion over supper about how procurement should take on more responsibility in the AI adoption race, the signal was unmistakable: change is coming in the industry, and so should the approach to partnership and performance.

Welcome to our first edition of RAUS Global’s Curated Marketing Industry News for Procurement for 2025.

As we step into the new year—albeit a little later than planned—we’re energized by the opportunities and trends already shaping the marketing procurement landscape. This issue arrives at a critical moment when our roles as procurement leaders are being redefined by unprecedented innovations (think AI), evolving media ecosystems (think retail media, principal media etc.), and powerful movements towards greater transparency and strategic impact.

In early March, RAUS Global proudly hosted the Women in Marketing Procurement Forum alongside our partners at AlixPartners, celebrating International Women’s Day. This event brought together dynamic professionals from a broad range of sectors including fitness, finance, fashion, cosmetics, pharma, and beyond. It served as a vibrant reminder that the strongest procurement strategies come from diverse perspectives and global collaboration.
